Cappadocia, where human and nature, history and culture intertwine glamorously, is one of the main centers of Anatolian civilizations. With the vision of “From the local to the Universe”, Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, in the middle of the historical, natural and cultural wealth of the region, is planning to initiate an academic discussion on this heritage at an international level. In this regard, Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University in cooperation with the Governor of Nevşehir, 2nd Nevşehir International Symposium on the History and Culture is going to be held between the dates May 2-4, 2016 on the occasion of 290th anniversary of the “Damat İbrahim Paşa’s decree that turned Muşkara into Nevşehir in June, 1726.
The first symposium was held in 2011, and the subtitles of this second symposium are "History, Culture, Environment, Tourism, Health, Economics, Religion and Education". In this context, main objectives of the symposium are:
- To highlight the importance of Nevsehir as a cultural city in the cultural history of Turkey and the world;
- To introduce historical and literary figures, who grew up in the region with the environment they live in.
- By investigating the region in the context of disciplines such as History, Literature, Tourism, Health, Economy, Religion, Education and Environmental Sciences in order to position the region in terms of these disciplines.
Papers to be presented in the symposium; will be divided into several sections, attention will be paid to the subject integrity during the sessions. For each paper 15 minutes and 5 minutes for each presentation will be granted. At the end of the event; a general evaluation of the symposium will be carried out by scientists from our country and abroad. During the symposium, scientific publications, works of art and culture representing Nevşehir and its neighborhood will be exhibited at the Congress and Culture Center. Once the symposium is completed, papers which are intended to be presented in the symposium are going to be published.
